PalmSource

Palm recently hosted their developer conference, now called PalmSource, in Santa Clara, California. It was partly remarkable for how little was said, compared to the announcement of the Palm VII at last year's PalmDevCon; and party for how much was said, given that Palm are supposed to limit their comments about future plans in the light of the planned IPO for Palm. Palm are showing a significant profit, the only part of 3com to do so, and the IPO, planned for January, makes a great deal of sense - not necessarily indicating that 3com intend to sell off Palm at all, but emphasising the strong performance of Palm within the 3com group.
