Once again, I'd like to remind you to send any suggested tips (or requests for tips) to the email address at the end of this column.

This first tip applies to any PDA that supports synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook. To include holidays for any given region (UK, USA or even Islamic), select in Outlook the menu option Tools/Options/Preferences/Calendar_Options/Add_Holidays, choose the holidays you want, and then synchronise.

Creating repeating events on the PalmPilot seems to cause some confusion, especially appointments that span a number of days but repeat as well. To create, for example, an appointment covering weekdays only for a couple of weeks, create a repeating appointment for each day of the week (Monday to Friday), covering the period required. This technique applies to other PDAs as well, and was a favourite on the Newton.
