CE Services 2.1

Another recent release for Windows CE is CE Services 2.1. This doesn't add any significant new features for existing users; its main purpose is to provide support for the Palm-size PC (I bet 3com are happy about that law suit). This includes support for Mobile Channels, which connect to Internet Explorer 4.0 Active Channels, and Rich Ink exchange with MS Word. The main addition apart from Palm-sized support is synchronisation with Outlook 98 messaging, on both Windows 98 and NT 5.0. Synchronisation with Outlook 98 is already supported, so the messaging support is the final pice in the puzzle for Outlook 98 users.

This upgrade is not available from Microsoft, but only from OEMs. The only two links provided on Microsoft's web site are to HP and Philips web sites.
