Geofox

One interesting development is the announcement from Geofox Ltd of the Geofox-One, a handheld computer using the EPOC/32 operating system from Psion. Imagine a Series 5 with a glide pad instead of a touch screen, bundled EnRoute, Chess, and the Internet package, and a PCMCIA slot and supplied PCMCIA modem card, but a bouncy rubber keyboard. The screen is slightly larger than the Psion Series 5's standard 640x240 at 640x320. It will be available late in 1997 with configurations from 4Mb to 16Mb and competitive prices. Geofox is based in Cambridge, with an office in Austin, Texas, and was founded last year by a team including people from Tadpole, the maker of Intel and SPARC high end laptops.
