Level 9 - 13

At spell level 9, buy Firefist, Light Healing, Strength of Earth, Ignite, Thistlecoat and Shield of Thistles. Others are optional; some people like to fight from Treeform while soloing, because of the regen. This is fine if the mob doesn't run when low, or you have enough mana to nuke it when it does. Watch out for people who can't figure out what is going on, and try to kill steal. Ignite replaces Burst of Fire; keep using Whirling Wind against casters. Light Healing replaces the newbie Minor Healing, which is now very ineffective. Always cast Strength, Firefist and Thistlecoat on yourself, as well as your old Skin Like Wood. When meleeing, cast Shield of Thistles on the main tank - if solo, that will be yourself, if in a group, whoever takes aggro. In a group, cast Strength of Earth on all melee members; only cast Shield of Thistles on the main tank, as it is relatively expensive to cast, and lasts a short while. It is most effective if several mobs are all on the same player at once; if mobs keep switching between several tanks, then it isn't worth while casting. For grouping, Protection of Wood is a desirable spell, but has to be obtained from Shadowhaven, which can mean a long trip.

Hunting location at 9 will now mean inside Blackburrow almost entirely. For soloing, the area called the snake ledge is OK, as the snakes respawn rapidly and don't aggro or assist. To reach there, climb up a ladder from the pond area on the bottom level of Blackburrow at the back.

For variety, keep on the rabid grizzlies; trips to West Karana are feasible, as are ones out on the plains of Everfrost to hunt giant spiders, snow orcs, and snow leopards.

At ten, when you die, all of your belongings will remain on your corpse, and you will have to remem spells, reapply buffs, and then locate your corpse and loot all your belongings. At 11, you will start to lose experience when you die. For some advice on coping with this, see here.
